Job description
Type Electives is looking for a remote part-time Graphic Design and Administrative Assistant to work directly with the program directors to support the school’s promotion and programming.
Who is this role for?
This role is perfect for a detail-oriented and highly organized individual who is able to generate graphics for web and social, craft email templates, and answer emails.

You have used or are familiar with social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mastodon, and LinkedIn
You love engaging with the community and know how to get people excited about type, design, and education

Requirements
Needs to be able to communicate with staff during East Coast U.S. business hours (Specific days and hours can be discussed)
Fluent in written and spoken English
Meets one of these requirements:
1. You are a U.S. Citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S. as an independent contractor
2. You are not a U.S. Citizen but are aware of potential U.S. tax responsibilities as an independent contractor receiving income from the U.S.
Qualifications
Highly organized and detail-oriented with experience creating assets and writing copy for social media
Excellent communication skills and great email etiquette
Ability to take and organize meeting notes
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a schedule with weekly deliverables
Entry-level experience designing and writing
Proficiency with Google Workspace, especially Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
Proficiency with Notion
Foundational knowledge of typography or equivalent
Intro-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Must be comfortable working with pre-designed templates to produce web and social media graphics.
Extras
Experience in design education and/or community building. Examples include: teacher or teaching assistant, community or event organizer, etc.
Fluent in one or more languages besides English
Intermediate-level+ proficiency in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
Proficiency in Adobe After Effects
Experience designing event graphics & templates
Responsibilities
Creating graphic assets for web, social media, and general events
Planning, managing, and executing social media posts across all our channels
Working with program directors to outline and prioritize weekly tasks
Sending and responding to emails (either using existing email templates or by creating new ones as necessary)
Putting together newsletters for upcoming events and classes
Benefits
This role is a part-time contract position for the duration of two months. You will be expected to work about 10 hours per week at the rate of $20/hour for a total of $1600 over the course of the semester. You are also welcome to participate in a class of your choice for free if you wish as well.
